「ミラクルプロジェクト」の創始者エレインは、教育者、演劇指導などの肩書きを持ち、30以上の児童劇を書き監督した。最近作に「Akeelah and the Bee ドリームズ・カム・トゥルー 」がある。ロシアから養子縁組みしたニールは、その後発病。一般的な療法に効果がなかった時エレインは、演劇や歌や音楽を使って自閉症の子供の自尊心やコミュニケーションを育成する方法を思いついた。

- パティ・スミスから「I love you」との伝言です。パティが娘に初めて教えた曲は「I Am A Child」だったと伝えてほしいとのことです。

- もう何度も聞かれたと思うのですが、「Freedom of Speech Tour」を始めたきっかけは？誰が誰に「やろう！」と声をかけたのですか？
発端はアルバム「Living With War」。CSNとのツァーはすでに決まっていたけれど、その後に録音したから、彼らに言ったんだ。これが俺の政治と戦争と人類愛の新譜だ、もし一緒にツァーするのなら、その内容でなければ駄目だと。彼らは一緒にやることに同意した。戦争で死んで行く兵士のことを歌ったあとに、全く違う歌を歌うなんて変だからね。あのアルバムはそういう内容だったから、それに集中していたかったんだ。
- 昔の曲の一節に「We Can Change The World」という歌詞がありますね。現在大勢の政治家が「change」という言葉を使っていますが、あなたが昔意味したchangeと同じ事でしょうか？
わからないなぁ。「CSNY Deja Vu」のためにここへ来るまで、どんなことが起こっているのか知らなかった。ベルリンで演奏するのは好きだ。ベルリンは芸術の都市だし、ベルリン映画祭は芸術と良識のレベルが高い。来れて嬉しい。でも来るまで誰が来るのか知らなかった。ほんの数日前までストーンズが来ることも知らなかった。嬉しいよ。大好きなロックンロールバンドだ。

Sundanceサンダンス映画祭が2008年の参加作品を発表した。最終日最終作品は、ロックバンド Crosby, Stills, Nash & Youngの作品「CSNY, Deja Vu」。本作品は2006年の「Freedom of Speech」ツァーのドキュメンタリー。1970年のアルバム「Deja Vu」からのベトナム戦争反対のテーマ「Teach Your Children」などが際立つ、単なるコンサート記録以上の作品だ。
Shakey Picturesは現在、Linc Volt “Repowering the American Dream” と題されたドキュメンタリーを製作中。1959年リンカーン・コンチネンタル Mark IV がハイブリッド・プラグイン車に改造されながらアメリカ横断する記録だ。前半はサンフランシスコからエンジン改造場所のカンサス州ウィチタまでの記録。途中ガソリンスタンドでの「普通のアメリカ市民」たちとの対話がフィーチャーされている。
アメリカのシンガーソングライター史上最も偉大な人物のひとり、ピート・シーガーの人生を綴るドキュメンタリー。監督ジム・ブラウン。ピート・シーガーはフォーク・リバイバルの立役者であり、ヒット曲には Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Turn Turn Turn, If I Had A Hammer などがある。
本作品は「歌の力」を信じるシーガーの遺言状とも言える。そして個人が世界を変える事ができるという信念の証明でもある。インタヴューには多くのミュージシャンが参加した。Joan Baez ジョーン・バエズ, Bonnie Raitt ボニー・レイット, Bruce Springsteen ブルース・スプリングスティーン, Natalie Maines ナタリー・メイン, Tom Paxton トム・パクストン, Peter, Paul and Mary ピーター・ポール & マリーらが、シーガーがアメリカ音楽と社会に与えた影響を語る。
