もうひとつは Jacqueline Keeler ジャクリーン・キーラーのエッセイ。Dineh（ナバホ）族とYankton Dakota Sioux（スー）族の一員で、カリフォルニア州オークランドの American Indian Child Resource Center アメリカインディアン児童センターで働いています。彼女は前述の人々と違って感謝祭を祝います。しかしその視点は一般アメリカ人と異なり、先住民の立場で、この日を過去と現在の苦悩からのヒーリングの日として祝うのです。
Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt / エイズ追悼キルトプロジェクトの創始者、Cleve Jones クリーブ・ジョーンズは、この新作映画「Milk」に大きな期待を寄せている。53歳のジョーンズは「Milk」の制作コンサルタントでもある。「今でも大学や高校で、そしてLGBT（レズビアン、ゲイ、バイセクシュアル、トランスジェンダー）の学生と話す機会があるごとに、話して聞かせています。彼らの多くはこの歴史を知りません。それはとても危険なことです。」ジョーンズはハーヴェイ・ミルクを師として尊敬していた。「現在の若者はこの自由を謳歌しています。でもほとんどが、この自由の歴史はまだ浅いことを知りません。」
